D-α-Tocopherol acetate (D-Vitamin E acetate) is an endogenous metabolite that can be hydrolyzed to d-alpha-tocopherol (VE) and absorbed in the small intestine. In cellular studies, it has been shown to inhibit LPS-induced production of NO, prostaglandin E2, and pro-inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IFN-γ, IL-1β, and IL-6) in mouse peritoneal macrophages. It also exhibits a slight suppression on the activation of NF-κB p50 and p65. This product is for research use only.
